Guitarist/vocalist C. Naughton commented on the new single: "The song is about thinking beyond the normal constraints of society and about taking personal responsibility for yourself and those closest to you. It speaks about trying to create a peaceful existence by taking back control from all the subversion, misinformation and division going on within society. It’s about trying to cut through the prevailing winds and noise that we as people are bombarded with everyday, and getting back to what truly matters. Home, friends, family and the meaningful connections we derive from our interactions with other people."

The band previously released the single 'Dishonour Enthroned', watch the video here

Forthcoming album The Imperious Horizon featured nine new tracks of intense, atmospheric black metal, that further deepen the strength of material in the Winterfylleth arsenal. It's set to be one of the darkest, enthralling, and most essential records to be released in 2024 and is the first album to feature guitarist and backing vocalist Russell Dobson as a writing member. Russell, who joined the group in 2020 and is also actively involved in the black metal band Necronautical, stepped in following the departure of Dan Capp shortly after The Reckoning Dawn.

The album also features a remarkable guest vocal performance by AA Nemtheanga from Primordial on the track 'In Silent Grace'. Alan has had a longstanding connection with the band, and his various projects (Primordial/Dread Sovereign) have shared the stage with Winterfylleth on numerous occasions over the years. After discussing collaboration, the opportunity arose on this album when it became evident that the mood and atmosphere of 'In Silent Grace' would be a perfect fit for working together. The result is a powerful and expansive track that showcases Alan's distinctive vocal abilities alongside Winterfylleth's emotive songwriting style.

The Imperious Horizon was recorded and produced by the legendary Chris Fielding (Primordial, Napalm Death, Conan, Electric Wizard, Fen) at Foel Studios in Central Wales, while the post-production & mastering was overseen by Mark Mynett (My Dying Bride, Rotting Christ) at his Mynetaur Productions suite in Manchester, UK.

About Winterfylleth

British atmospheric black metal pioneers, Winterfylleth, emerged in 2006 and gained immediate attention with their first demo, Rising of the Winter Full Moon (2007). Their rapid rise in the metal underground caught the attention of Profound Lore Records, leading to a record deal and the release of debut album, The Ghost of Heritage, in 2008. This marked the beginning of their journey to international acclaim. With the release of their second album, The Mercian Sphere, under Candlelight Records in 2010, Winterfylleth solidified their position in the metal realm, propelling them to international success. Subsequent albums, including The Threnody of Triumph (2012), The Divination of Antiquity (2014), and The Dark Hereafter (2016), continued to showcase their musical evolution and storytelling prowess.

In 2017, Winterfylleth commemorated their 10 year anniversary with a tour and then in 2018 unveiled their sixth album, The Hallowing of Heirdom, a departure from their signature sound as they delved into acoustic folk music - a theme that had previously been explored to lesser extent on their other albums, but never as a full conceptual album. Drawing inspiration from ancient folklore, pastoral poetry, and early British customs, the album offered a unique and captivating musical experience. Their 2020 release, The Reckoning Dawn, made a significant impact, reaching no #75 on the UK Top 100 albums chart and claiming the #7 spot on the rock/metal charts in the UK. Winterfylleth's commitment to storytelling through music and their innovative fusion of metal with traditional folk influences continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

In late 2023, Winterfylleth were privileged to have a chapter dedicated to the history and impact of the band included in the landmark publication, Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult by Dayal Patterson. A key moment for the band that cements their status as a leading force in global black metal - within what is probably the most important document about the genre of all time.

Over nearly two decades, the band have shared stages with renowned acts such as Enslaved, Behemoth, Decapitated, Emperor, Gaahls Wyrd, Alcest, Cradle of Filth, Primordial, Gaerea, Panopticon and more, gracing festivals worldwide including Prophecy Fest, Inferno, Ragnarok, Roadburn, Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Summer BreezeGraspop, and Bloodstock Open Air. Their music has garnered critical acclaim globally, earning them magazine covers and prestigious awards, including a Metal Hammer Golden God.

When asked about the inspiration behind the single drop, Bodysnatcher vocalist Kyle Medina commented: “"'Infested' is about falling back into depression over and over again. It’s about being on the cusp of giving up and telling yourself that you’re going to do whatever you can to heal and come out okay on the other end. Depression is a lifelong fight, and we’re always going to feel like it’s important to talk about.”

The band have previously released the hard-hitting tracks 'Human Disdain,' and 'Severed' and 'Murder8' featuring Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta.

Vile Conduct demonstrates the pure power that exemplifies Bodysnatcher bursting out of conventional genre constraints in favour of putting out something that is simply…heavy. Produced by the legendary Will Putney (Fit for an Autopsy, END, Knocked Loose)Vile Conduct touches on personal tales of loss at the hands of addiction and substance, all through a unique lens of bitter remorse and ruthless aggression that only Bodysnatcher could provide.

About Bodysnatcher:

Drawing their name from the infamous Plainfield Ghoul, Ed Gein, Bodysnatcher know a thing or two about darkness, brutality and aggression. Since their 2014 inception in Melbourne, Florida, Bodysnatcher have been bringing nothing but the finest in furious, extreme music. Combining crushing breakdowns with eerie ambience, scathing riffs and grisly grooves, the band have become synonymous with “heavy,” invoking violence in every city they happen to visit, spawning mosh pits that leave nothing but craters in their wake.

With each release, Bodysnatcher have added depth to their dynamic, proving they are an ever-growing and changing act with the singular purpose of absolutely obliterating the listener. In 2015, mere months after their formation, the act exploded into the worldwide underground with the release of their debut EP, Abandonment. Considered one of the “Rushmore” releases of the American Downtempo wave, Abandonment took Bodysnatcher around the country, delivering breakdowns and broken bones to venues from Southern Florida to California. The band’s debut full-length that followed, Death of Me (Stay Sick Records), saw the band mature from their modest downtempo roots into something more diverse and devastating, incorporating a blend of contemporary metal and hardcore elements to create something that saw Bodysnatcher start to blur conventional genre lines. Death of Me would skyrocket the band’s notoriety even higher, including a headlining west coast tour with Extortionist (Unique Leader Records) in support. Almost immediately after the release of Death of Me, Bodysnatcher underwent a significant line-up change, bringing aboard Chris Whited (King Conquer, 1776 Recordings) as percussionist and producer alongside Kyle Carter (Beacons) and Kyle Shope (Float Face Down) on guitar and bass respectively. With all three of them working alongside the titanic range and unmistakable vitriol of frontman Kyle Medina as songwriters, a deluxe re-release of their debut LP featuring five all-new songs followed not long after the line-up was cemented. Those songs segued Bodysnatcher into a new sound and style that would not fully materialise until their two follow-up releases, This Heavy Void (2020) and Bleed-Abide (2022). These records together would not only see the band signing with premier heavy music label MNRK Heavy, but would also highlight the band’s unique ability to blend harrowingly personal tales of love and loss with blistering aggression. Between This Heavy Void’s 'Twelve/Seventeen' and Bleed-Abide’s 'Smashed Perception', the band seemed to encompass the alpha and omega of all things eviscerating—emotionally or, well, literally.

Since Bleed-Abide, Bodysnatcher have continued their tireless grind, touring across the country with the likes of AngelMaker, Hatebreed, Dying Fetus, Emmure, We Came as Romans and more—and spending plenty of time inoculating overseas lands with their unique concoction of crushing brutality as well. 2024 witnesses the band depart for not one, but two colossal ventures with former label mates Spite—across both Europe and the continental United States. From their earnest beginnings as one of the United States’ premiere exporters of bludgeoning, beefy breakdowns to now one of the country’s most renowned heavy music exports, Bodysnatcher are a peerless example of hard work, dedication and—of course—devastating heaviness.

Thrash legends Sadus release lyric video for 'The Devil In Me' ahead of Bloodstock performance

In anticipation for their upcoming return to Europe, East Bay thrash metal legends Sadus have revealed a new lyric video for ‘The Devil in Me’, from their latest album, The Shadow Inside, now available from Nuclear Blast Records.

Watch here: https://youtu.be/deG7J-mm6h4

The band will be performing a hometown warm up show in California on 27th July before heading across the Atlantic for European festivals.

Upcoming tour dates:

Jul 27: Petaluma CA USA Phoenix Theater
Aug 08: Nottertal-Heilinger Heights DE Party San Open Air Festival
Aug 09: Kortrijk BE Alcatraz Metal Festival
Aug 10: Josefov CZ Brutal Assault Festival
Aug 11: Derbyshire UK Bloodstock Open Air Festival

Sadus are currently touring in support of The Shadow Inside, which was released in November 2023 with Nuclear Blast Records.

The band’s 6th full-length was recorded with Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, TESTAMENT, MACHINE HEAD) at Trident Studios and features ominous artwork by accomplished artist Travis Smith (FLESHGOD APOCALPYSE, OPETH). Their first record in 17 years is a contemporary thrash classic with colossal, groove-laden riffs at break-neck rhythm and blistering solos as heard on blistering tracks like ‘Scorched And Burnt,’ ‘It’s The Sickness’ and ‘Ride The Knife,” that further cement the band’s legacy as one of thrash metal’s most quintessential bands.

About Sadus:

After 17 long years since Sadus last bestowed a new record upon the world, the band unleashed the beast once again with the release of their 6th full-length album, The Shadow Inside, with Nuclear Blast Records in November 2023.

Adorned with the compelling artwork of Travis Smith, the album cover depicts an all-consuming demon of the cosmos fiercely enveloping a tortured soul beneath, perfectly encapsulating the vision and duality that the songs on this record deliver. Founder and drummer Jon Allen shares his excitement about working with Travis once again, reminiscing about their collaboration on Elements of Anger. He points out that several tracks on the new album, such as ‘The Devil In Me’ and ‘The Shadow Inside,’ revolve around the idea of an internal entity constantly pushing us. At times, one might find themselves at the edge of reason, attributing their actions to the shadow within, an external force they blame for their choices. While not a concept album per-se, every song deals with life decisions and the importance of taking responsibility for one's actions to unlock the best life has to offer. The track ‘The Shadow Inside’ boasts a heavier and slower tone, with a touch of classic, gut-wrenching grind, creating a fitting climax to the album.

A formidable darkness flows through tracks like ‘Anarchy’. Evidently influenced by the tumultuous post-Covid times of mass hysteria, looting, and general loss of control, the melody reflects this chaotic environment. Allen describes the track as “more straightforward and in-your-face, hitting listeners right in the gut.” Despite the intensity, Sadus manage to retain their signature death/thrash blend, staying true to their old-school roots. The aggression remains palpable, allowing their music to speak for itself with raw, unapologetic power.

‘Scorched and Burnt’ follows suit, with its steady beat and chaotic vocals seamlessly intertwining with blistering guitar work. The track gradually transitions into an impassioned melody, igniting a fiery explosion as the song nears its conclusion. Although inspired by the literal wildfires that plagued California during its creation, ‘Scorched and Burnt’ delves deeper into the idea that individuals often feel like someone or something is constantly out to get them. Yet, in the end, the song urges unity, recognizing that every action, even in chaos, ripples through the lives of others.

The process of creating The Shadow Inside was unhurried and unencumbered by unnecessary roadblocks. Sadus allowed their creativity to flow naturally, collecting riffs and writing together in person. The band took their time, nurturing and developing their musical ideas until they evolved into the powerful tracks we hear today. Allen emphasizes that their drama-free and family-oriented approach to making music is one of the reasons their sound speaks so powerfully to their fans. Collaborating with Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios added another layer of refinement to the album, as his expertise in death metal played a vital role in shaping its overall sound.

All that being said, Sadus are not a band that simply stands apart from the crowd for the sake of being different. They stand tall, unswayed by mass hysteria and media influences, choosing to make their own decisions and encourage others to do the same. In a world filled with disinformation and false flags, they emphasize the importance of being smart, using common sense, thinking for ourselves, and remaining aware of our surroundings.

With their uncompromising vision, Sadus continue to stand as a beacon of authenticity and integrity within the heavy metal community, forever forging their path in the ever-evolving landscape of music.

Of the new video, Lizzy comments: "'The video for Body In Your Basement' is another door into the world of The MadHotel.

"This project holds immense significance to me as it allowed me to embark on a journey of self-discovery, unveiling a hidden world within a basement and confronting my inner demons.

"In this music video, I wanted to explore the concept of stepping into a new realm, a world that lies beneath the surface, hidden from plain sight. The basement serves as a metaphorical representation of the subconscious mind, a place where our deepest fears and vulnerabilities reside.

"Had so much fun working on this video with
JAWMIDNIGHT - they really helped my ideas come to life."

A dynamic force in the UK music scene since 2018, Lizzy emerged from the verdant landscapes of North Wales to craft a sound that defies convention. Now Birmingham-based, Lizzy's musical journey began in her homeschooling days, where her creativity found fertile ground to flourish.

Having traversed the UK, Europe, and the United States, Lizzy's stage presence is as eclectic as her sound. Her debut album, Bruise released in 2020, marked a significant milestone in her career, capturing the attention of audiences worldwide.

Sharing stages with luminaries such as Lights, Set It Off, The Story So Far, and Four Year Strong, Lizzy's performances leave an indelible mark, whether in intimate venues or at major UK festivals like Slam Dunk and 2000trees.

Entering 2024, Lizzy's evolution as an artist and individual is palpable. Drawing inspiration from as varied artists as Deftones, The Prodigy, and Gwen Stefani, Lizzy's new music seamlessly melds alt-pop, metal, and electronic dance elements. Breakbeats and breakdowns punctuate her compositions, showcasing her versatility and penchant for pushing boundaries.

Beyond her captivating vocals lies Lizzy's prowess as a producer, intricately weaving together sonic tapestries that captivate and challenge listeners. Her distinctive sound is a breath of fresh air in a landscape often marred by predictability.

In 2024, Lizzy Farrall stands poised to redefine expectations once again, as she unveils her latest sonic odyssey. With each note, she invites audiences into a world where genre barriers dissolve, leaving only the raw emotion and unadulterated passion that define her artistry.

Their single showcases their signature mix of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged lyrics. Known for their energetic performances and powerful sound, this track promises to be a standout in their discography.

Alongside the single, the band has launched pre-orders for their final album, available as CD and limited coloured vinyl. 'Burial Season' is now available on all major streaming platforms, offering a glimpse of the band's enduring dedication to their music.

The level of relatability, coupled with their relentless touring with the likes of A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandria and Blessthefall and high profile slots at festivals like Graspop, Nova Rock, Summerblast and Jera On Air, has seen the band command an ever growing army of highly dedicated followers; they have over 115,000 monthlies and 50M streams on Spotify, have been viewed over 9 million times on Youtube and have over 29,000 Instagram followers and 107,000 on Facebook and 2017’s debut album Hartsick reached the top spot of the Itunes chart for rock and metal in the UK, as well as placing in the top ten in the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy and Germany.

They were also boosted by their hugely popular cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ in 2017, which was picked up by BBC Radio One’s Greg James and subsequently topped the iTunes UK rock and metal chart, and racked up over 300,000 plays on YouTube on its first week of release.

For a band who have handled their own operations internally without the help of major label or industry backing till today, that is a mightily impressive number, and testament to the devotion Our Hollow, Our Home have to their craft. But it’s more than just the numbers that are impressive, it’s the way in which those people have connected with the band. Be it their lyrical content, their staunchly DIY approach, their high energy live shows or their down to earth attitude, Our Hollow, Our Home have connected with their audience in a way that cannot be forced or faked.

'Departure' is an intricate extreme metal masterpiece and its video is equally as bombastic as the song itself, which quickly pulls you into another dimension with its grandiose landscape. Assemble The Chariots are poised to cement themselves as one of the genre’s best with this new album, which is simply undeniable.

Assemble The Chariots state: "From the beginning, our collective mindset was to primarily focus on the story and to ignore musical trends and boundaries, as we wanted the album to feel like a movie soundtrack. We also wanted to make playing the songs live fun as well. This means that instead of only writing super technical and complex songs, we took a different approach by contrasting the more challenging parts with more simpler elements whenever the songs needed them. This provided us the freedom to perform and enjoy the music on a whole different level.

"Our newest single, ‘Departure,' is where things get f*cking real, story-wise. This is the end of this story, but the beginning of a grand one. This means that since the beginning it was clear that this was going to be the opening track for the album, and as such, will be the introduction to the main theme/melody found throughout the album, in almost every song. To contrast this, it was decided that the lyrics of the song would tell the end of the album, and all the other songs in between it. Chronologically, ‘Departure' is what happens basically right after the battle that our previous single, 'Galactic Order,' is about. This means that while the album is absolutely crafted to be musically cohesive, but story-wise there are a few time warps.

"Our new music is a non-traditional combination of traditional elements to create an epic showcase of what metal can be in modern times. The way the songs have been arranged and composed keeps the listener aware and drags you into the song. Every note and hit has been carefully crafted with a greater picture in mind. This, in conjunction with the highly thought-out lore behind the songs, creates a combination that truly feels fresh and unique in a pretty saturated field. Our sincere wish is that anyone who stumbles upon this album, would be open to listening to it as a piece of heavy metal history, instead of an example of what a specific genre should to them sound like.

"If you like blast-beats, mega-epic orchestrations, spectacular live shows and nerding out to intricate lore, or if you are just yearning for a unique sounding metal band to add to your song libraries, Assemble The Chariots is your band."

Following strong support in the form of millions of streams across their catalogue of releases, many  U.K. tours with multiple sell-out headline shows, not to mention numerous festival appearances includingDownload,Takedown,Turbulenceand Burn It Down- the band from Hertfordshire, U.K., now present their label debut forLong Branch Records.

"'Perish' is about facing up to reality. To appreciate life for what is, rather than what you wish it was,"comment the band."It’s a promise to yourself to lay in the bed you made and to acknowledge every part of yourself. To light a match and let the Shadow Work begin."

On the album, they continue: “Shadowlightstems from a period of solitude and deep reflection, as we explore what it means to accept your inner darkness. Acknowledging, understanding and ultimately accepting it for what it is, learning how to sit with it or use it to change your outlook. The album sees all sides of this, tying in the parallel of the artistic process itself and what it is to create. To open yourself up to the possibility that you may not achieve what you believe in your core to be something you deserve, that you may not reach your potential. This cycle of disappointment and self sabotage is commonplace, with nothing left but to chase a sense of absolution and validation forever out of reach."

Defences will return to British stages with Swarm6ix joining them as special guests.
