Since their formation in 2008, Norwegian punk/rock outfit Blood Command have been redefining boundaries within the alternative music scene. Known for their energetic blend of punk, hardcore, and melodic rock—self-described as “death pop”—Blood Command have captivated audiences with their fusion of sharp aggression, infectious hooks, and pop sensibilities.
Today, the band have announced their signing with Arising Empire, and release their storming new single 'We Could Be Heaven'. Their latest single delivers a dark, pop-punk punch, exploring the cost of following one’s heart—even to one’s demise. As the first taste of their upcoming 2025 album, this track may be Blood Command's catchiest, most pop-forward release yet, setting the stage for an album that promises to elevate their revolutionary sound to new heights.

Led by guitarist and principal songwriter Yngve Andersen, the Bergen-based band have drawn widespread acclaim for their innovative sound and electrifying live performances.
The 2020 addition of fierce vocalist Nikki Brumen has amplified the band’s intensity, enhancing their powerful messages of rebellion, individualism, and empowerment. Blood Command’s albums, including Funeral Beach (2012) and Praise Armageddonism (2020), illustrate their ability to evolve while remaining rooted in their punk ethos. With a loyal fanbase across Europe and an unwavering touring schedule, Blood Command continue to push the limits of punk and hardcore.
Phoenix nu-metal juggernauts Sicksense, featuring former The Agonist vocalist Vicky "Killer V" Psarakis, have released the third single, 'Masquerade Parade'. The track taken from their upcoming debut full-length album, Cross Me Twice, out 14th February 2025 via Earache Records.

Vocalist Rob The Ripper commented: “'Masquerade Parade' critically takes aim at modern western health practices, the pharmaceutical industry and politicians. It's also a warning to be careful of trusting the wrong people. In many cases, the people who claim to have your best interests, absolutely do not. Don't be fooled by them.
"Film making wise, we wanted to tell a story that keeps moving forward from one scene into the other with intelligent transitions that utilized practical effects, acting and camera angles/movement. Much like watching an actual parade. The music video story features the characters of Vicky, Deli The Bear and myself as these kind of supernatural entities. Vicky’s character unleashes a villainous persona out of me by tinkering with an hourglass, then the real fun begins. I then go on to terrorize my other band mates throughout the video, while Vicky gradually brings each one of them out of the darkness by handing them their instruments. Being stronger together, they are able to defeat their common enemy…but the question is, was this enemy really the 'bad guy' to begin with, or did someone else create the problem in the first place, and conveniently set themselves up to appear to be the 'hero'?
"We love incorporating multiple meanings into our lyrics and our storytelling. 'Masquerade Parade' takes you on a ride with twists and turns that catch you off guard and we hope it pleasantly surprises many people who check it out."
Vocalist Killer V adds: "My favorite part in the concept of the video is how our bandmates snap out of the condition they're in when they are given their instruments. This entire video was put together through multiple brainstorming sessions and we were a little stuck on what the "revival" action would be. I remember initially suggesting giving them their instruments as a joke, but the more we thought about it, the more it just made sense. Music heals and brings us together. It's an escape for both musicians and fans of music, so in a way the perfect imagery for our message. One thing we always aim to do with Sicksense is incorporate a positive message through even our darkest songs. Also, the first two choruses are one continuous shot, so from a filming aspect that was really interesting and challenging for us to nail. It's easy when you know you can piece together bits of different footage and make something cool out of it, but having to get everything right in one shot is a whole other experience. This is by far my favorite song and video that we've done to this day."
From the maleficent minds of dual vocalists Killer V and Rob The Ripper, Sicksense are leading the charge of the new wave of nu-metal. With the added arsenal of guitarist Agent Phil [Philip Lykostratis], bassist The Gothfather [Richard Regier] and drummer Smokin' J [Joseph Polizzi], Sicksense follow up their highly acclaimed two EPs with with their heaviest record yet, melting nu-metal elements with metalcore and electronic touches for a unique spin on the rejuvenated genre.
Killer V comments on the record: "Our upcoming album, Cross Me Twice, takes the listener on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey. We evolved from our traditional nu metal sound, by incorporating more modern metal and electronic elements into this album. The heavy parts got heavier, the soft parts got softer and the catchy parts got catchier. 'Cross Me Twice' explores a wider dynamic range, which leaves the listener not knowing what to expect with each release. We were going through numerous personal issues amongst ourselves as a band while working on this record, which inevitably led to us parting ways with former members and bringing in new ones to complete it. These issues inspired the lyrical themes for each song. It wasn't easy to go through and create, but we're extremely proud of the end result.
"I remember spending countless hours working on keys and the overall sound design of 'Cross Me Twice', on top of all the vocal arrangements I normally task myself with. Teaming up with our producer, Joey Doherty, was the final step and best decision we could have made to bring you guys what we believe will be one of the absolute best sounding albums of 2025.
"There's something for everyone to enjoy here and we hope it means as much to our listeners as it does to us. It's truly special."
It's rare that a debut album inspires such fervent anticipation, but the thrill surrounding a full-length from Sicksense is concrete. A band who have nurtured their community from seedlings to an army of “Deli-boos” (if you know, you know), Sicksense made instant waves in the metal scene upon the release of their two EPs Kings Today and Fools Tomorrow.
These collections saw their music garner support from metal connoisseurs such as TankTheTech, feature in the ring with ex-NXT and NOAH pro-wrestler Stallion Rogers, and hit Spotify's Alternative Metal and New Nü playlists alongside other trailblazers in the future of metal. These two small portholes into their vibrant world have turned heads in the industry and metal fandom alike, receiving comparisons to nü-metal titans like Slipknot, Evanescence and Limp Bizkit in the process.
Sicksense have now announced their debut album Cross Me Twice, news which will see anticipation on all sides finally relieved. With Cross Me Twice, the band take their nü-metal influences and Frankenstein them into a hydra monster that sees the heads of metalcore, progressive metal and power metal combine into a modern experiment gone very right. The album is all a nü-metal fan could hope for while bringing new colour to the genre.
It's this versatility that sets Sicksense apart in the nü-gen surge. The adventurous Cross Me Twice is as fantastically otherworldly with luminous keys and glacial melodies as it is gritty with nü-metal grooves and stomach-lurching djent. Conjurers of jeweled light and chroma, commanders of shadow and moonbeams, Sicksense create such a thickly immersive atmosphere that it feels as though you can see the album just as much as you can hear it.

Progressive metalcore band SENNA return with a powerful new standalone single, 'Rain', out now via SharpTone Records. Known for their atmospheric soundscapes and intricate compositions, SENNA’s latest release showcases their evolution since their breakout debut EP, A Moment of Quiet, cementing their status as a formidable force in modern metalcore.
Stream here: https://bfan.link/rain-12
Watch here: https://youtu.be/zRJ4EHgkbj8
'Rain' delivers SENNA’s signature blend of hauntingly melodic tones and crushing breakdowns, highlighting the band’s expanded depth with intricate, emotive riffs from guitarist Marcel Dürr, heavy grooves from bassist Fabian Cattarius, and impassioned vocals from Simon Masdjedi. The single also introduces Viktor Warzecha on drums, whose precise and explosive style propels the track with newfound energy.
Reflecting on the track, Simon shares: "This song is about how alive you feel when you are with that one special person —like nothing else matters, and you are lifted beyond the ordinary. There’s this perfect sync between each other, a warmth that just ignites everything.!
"It’s not your typical slow and melancholic love song. Knowing where Simon wanted to take this song lyrically, I knew the instrumentation had to match the higher energy" adds Marcel. "I wanted to write a song that makes you want to dance and celebrate but still feels intimate and familiar".
Dead Icarus, the new project of former Atreyu lead vocalist and Gold-selling artist Alex Varkatzas, as well as Gabe Mangold of Enterprise Earth and Brandon Zackey, have today (31st October) released their debut album Zealot, out via MNRK Heavy.
Produced and co-written by Mangold, Zealot is a precise and pummeling execution of airtight technical riffs, miles of solos, blast beat assault and battery, and screamed, growled, and sung vocals.
The band have also shared the video for the title track, watch it here: https://youtu.be/G3H8ugaDMzg
Purchase Zealot here: https://deadicarus.ffm.to/zealot
"Zealot is the culmination of our unyielding, fanatical belief. We set out to create a dynamic, multi-faceted record that incorporated everything we love about music. It's heavy, it's melodic, it's angry, it's hopeful, it has riffs and hooks but above all it's sincere and comes from purely from our heart and minds. No outside interference. We hope you connect with and enjoy the music as much as we do," says Varkatzas.
On the single, he continues: "'Zealot,' the title track, is our most out of the box song on the record. It definitely toys with a nu-metal vibe but with our own unique Dead Icarus spin. It’s about abandoning comprises and following your internal compass NO MATTER THE COST. It's also the final video we shot in the haunted house, a perfect fit for this time of year."
Dead Icarus lean on the uncanny creative union between vocalist Varkatzas, guitarist and producer Gabe Mangold, and drummer Brandon Zackey. The band truly get their wings from the undying commitment made by the members. The musicians pursue their artistry with a resolute sense of focus, manifesting in the precise execution of airtight technical riffs, virtuosic solos, blast beat assault and battery, and hard-hitting vocals.
Countless fans worldwide initially got to know Varkatzas as co-founder and original frontman for influential Southern California metalcore stalwarts Atreyu. After two decades earmarked by chart-shaking success, a pair of Gold albums and Gold singles, sold-out shows around the globe, and critical renown, he embarked on his next chapter in 2020.
Enter Mangold. Celebrated as guitarist for Enterprise Earth, he and Alex instantly clicked and forged a musical partnership, yielding their 2024-released Ad infernum EP. Inciting critical applause, Revolver promised, "Fans of old-school Atreyu will definitely enjoy."
Dead Icarus will also embark on their first US tour this September with Enterprise Earth and Nekrogoblikon. Worldwide touring is planned for 2025 and beyond.

The striking cover for Overdriver was created by German illustrator Max Löffler. More info on pre-order and tracklisting will follow very soon.

Comments vocalist Karl Middleton, "Getting to play the songs from our new album live (as well as some old favs) is an absolute joy. So as a Christmas present to ourselves we are hitting the road in December. The Nottingham show probably qualifies as some kind of hometown event, (despite the fact that none of us have lived there for 20 years). And the last time we played in Leeds it was Damnation 2010!!! Add in the 'life-goal-achieved' of supporting Helmet, and these shows look set to be absolute mayhem. We. Cannot. Wait!"
Middle Eastern prog doom metallers Lowen are ready to bring their unique sound to the stage as they support earthtone9 in both Nottingham and Leeds. Get ready for an unforgettable fusion of heavy riffs and atmospheric depth.
"We all LOVE Lowen," says guitarist Joe Roberts. "Such a massive sound and Nina Saeidi's vocals are beyond epic. It's a real treat for us to have them on these shows."
earthtone9 are celebrated by those in the know as one of the most innovative, intelligent, and creatively astute bands in the annals of British metal history. Rising to prominence in the late '90s amidst the burgeoning nu-metal scene, their sophisticated musicality and cerebral approach set them apart as a truly unique and groundbreaking force from the outset. Releasing an album annually between 1998 and 2000, starting with the meticulously crafted debut, Lo-def(inition) Discord, and culminating in the monumental Arc’tan’gent in 2000 – their prolific output matched the sheer brilliance of their music.
After splitting in 2002 the band made a surprise return in 2013 with the crowdfunded album, IV. Following this they made only occasional appearances in the live arena (including at the ArcTanGent Festival, which purloined its name from their third album!), before once again seeming to disappear on hiatus.
Now, 11 years on from their last record, they present In Resonance Nexus, a thrilling work of brains and muscle that not only stokes a fire, but sees the band's core members – vocalist Karl Middleton and guitarists Owen Packard and Joe Roberts – rediscovering and reconnecting with what makes them so special. More than anything, In Resonance Nexus represents the idea that some things are just too good and too special to lie perpetually dormant. With something as pure as earthtone9, that desire to create never truly leaves you. Eventually, even after a decade or more, it wants to come out again.

Just one week before embarking on the second leg of their 2024 Satanic Panic European Tour, right in time for spooky season, heavy occult rock congregation LUCIFER have unveiled a stunning cover version of the late, great Leonard Cohen's 'Who By Fire'.
Featuring doom metal Bobby Liebling of PENTAGRAM as a duet partner for Johanna Platow Andersson, you can witness two generations of occult rock and doom metal joining forces here: https://lucifer.bfan.link/who-by-fire
Johanna commented: "Growing up with Leonard Cohen's music, as my mother was a passionate fan, I have always been profoundly touched by his lyrics and of course especially gravitated towards this extremely haunting death theme. Bobby Liebling and I have been talking about collaborating for quite a few years now. When I knew I wanted Lucifer to cover 'Who By Fire', Bobby was the perfect one to interpret this very eerie song and I am so glad he said yes. Being a huge Pentagram fan, this is quite something for me! We are extremely pleased how 'Who By Fire' turned into a Lucifer song and Halloween was the perfect occasion to release this morbid work."
LUCIFER will continue their successful 2024 Satanic Panic European Tour next week, and once again they're being joined by German rising stars, The Night Eternal. The tour package will be completed by US heavy metal band Tanith, which features Russ Tippins (original guitar player of NWOBHM legends SATAN) on guitar and vocals.
ABOUT LUCIFER
Since their inception in 2014 in Berlin, the highly prolific band led by charismatic singer Johanna Platow Andersson have released four electrifying albums on Rise Above (LUCIFER I) and Century Media Records (LUCIFER II-IV), as well as and numerous stand-alone singles infused with 1970s hard rock, proto heavy metal, doom and occult rock, with a nod to their main influences such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram & Blue Öyster Cult.
They have played over 250 shows in Europe, Japan, North & South America, including festivals such as KISS Kruise, Psycho Las Vegas, Hellfest, Wacken and many more, most recently supporting the band GHOST on their European tour in spring 2023. Two of their shows have been recorded and broadcasted by prestigious German national TV program Rockpalast.
LUCIFER, now located in Stockholm, have been nominated for a Swedish Grammy twice, as well as for the Swedish Radio Award P3 and several awards by popular music magazine GAFFA. Amongst others, they have graced the cover of the leading US metal magazine, Decibel, before their first album was even released.
The group released their critically acclaimed fifth studio album, LUCIFER V, on January 26th 2024 through their new label Nuclear Blast Records.

The Night Flight Orchestra comment:
"Here’s the first taste of the newTNFOuniverse that isGive Us The Moon. Let yourself be mesmerised by the pulsating foundation and grandiose chorus of this glittery effort. This song is about keeping the highs, fighting the lows and never skipping a beat. We shall be watching you from the moon as you lace your shiny shoes. Enjoy 'Shooting Velvet'!"
Founded in 2007 by members of high-profile bands such as Soilwork, Arch Enemy and Mean Streak, over the years The Night Flight Orchestra have been nominated three times for the Swedish Grammis, gathering millions of streams via their hits. The band have also won over live audiences internationally with their incredibly entertaining performances, including enormous festivals like Wacken Open Air and even opening for Kiss on their very last two shows in Sweden at the legendary Dalhalla, as well as several successful European tours and a Latin American tour in summer 2024.
The 13-track album takes the listener on an exciting sonic journey, balancing between uplifting escapism and captivating stories inspired by real life events. The album's themes span the likes of heroines and temptresses to liberation and romantic nostalgia, set to backdrops of abandoned cities and cosmic tides. The intro track, 'Final Call', sets the scene for Give Us The Moon before impressive opening track 'Stratus'. The intro of 'Like The Beating Of A Heart' captures the listener from its first notes, leading into an irresistibly catchy chorus. The massive 'Melbourne, May I?' is a classic The Night Flight Orchestra anthem, featuring captivating solos that are equally prominent on following track 'Miraculous'. The Night Flight Orchestra slows it down for the emotional 'Paloma', before again diving into different soundscapes on the exciting, uplifting 'Cosmic Tide'. The title track, 'Give Us The Moon', builds into a singalong chorus, before the band continues their trademark of name-dropping streets and cities on 'A Paris Point Of View', that features fascinating instrumentation, including particularly 80s-inspired keys and groovy bass. Sentimental 'Runaways' feels like a part of a movie, only partially because of the attention-grabbing intro track before the first notes. The Night Flight Orchestra get the tempo up once more for 'Way To Spend The Night', before epic closing track 'Stewardess, Empress, Hot Mess (And The Captain Of Pain)' wraps up The Night Flight Orchestra’s most cinematic masterpiece so far.
Give Us The Moon is free from the limitations of one genre or style, although many of the soundscapes of the album draw inspiration from the 80s, making the album a varied, exciting adventure. The album was produced by The Night Flight Orchestra and Sebastian Forslund, who also mixed the album, and is mastered by Plec Johansson at the award-winning The Panic Room Studios. The galactic artwork was once again created by the talented Giorgia Carteri. Boarding is completed - fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the flight!
The Night Flight Orchestra comment on their new album:
“We have never worked harder on an album before and what a journey it’s been. We feel that this album has it all and there’s no way we could have done any better. It’s an explosion of emotions and cinematic landscapes where you’ll be catapulted into space and then land smoothly, while feeling right at home. It will be your haven and your grand escape all at once. We hope you will connect to this album with every fibre of your body and mind, just like we do. Please do enjoy Give Us The Moon!”
