German rock trio blacktoothed have released a new single/video entitled 'Hell's Paradise', a mystic fusion of vocals, guitars, and cinematic elements, crafting a haunting auditory landscape, out now via Arising Empire.  The song includes a robust chorus and an engaging hook, enhanced by the commanding vocal delivery of Felix Fröhlich from BITE.

Guitarist Matti characterises the track as capturing "the sensation of being paralysed and trapped within one's own mind, racing against time in a paradox of ample time (paradise) yet struggling to use it wisely (hell)."

Singer Hendrik remarks, "There’s always one song on every album that evolves significantly during the writing and recording process. Matti essentially wrote 'Hell’s Paradise' twice. Trusting the process was crucial, and we are thrilled with the final vibe of the song, especially with Felix’s contribution."

A story about challenges in friendship groups, Nyrobi and Chaya comment on the new single: "'My Drummer's Girlfriend' is a song about new friendships and the problems a shift in dynamics can cause. I’m sure anyone listening to it will be able to think of that ONE person that they just don’t get on with, within a group setting."

Within just a year ALT BLK ERA have established themselves as one of the most unique and exciting new alternative acts today, winning over audiences at major festivals including Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds, and opening for artists such as Tom Morello, Lord Of The Lost and many more. From pain and struggle to newfound strength and unconditional love, this is a story that will resonate with anyone who has faced barriers, and is an inspiration overcome them and to be yourself no matter what.

On Rave Immortal, Nyrobi comments: "You might not notice on a first listen that this album is about my hidden disability that is a result of chronic illness that took hold during my teens and left me bed-ridden for years. I take the listener through the shadows and share the pain of abandonment I felt, and the solace that I found in my younger sister's unwavering support.

"This part of the album is so painful for me and at the same time it feels beautiful because it shows my sister by my side, every step of the way; through each emotion and every story. I wouldn’t have been brave enough to share this part of me without Chaya and the track 'Come On Outside' is a beautiful reflection of her.

"But we don’t stop there! The album then captures the defiant energy that grew within us, as I became more able. The songs show us crashing through the imposed barriers and boldly claiming spaces that we were once excluded from. As the songs transition into a dreamscape, they delve into the exploration of relationships; the clash of personalities when fitting into a new friendship group and the dangerous mind of an infatuated person who is scarred by illness and years of isolation.

The rebellion then builds as we begin to host wild celebrations, fiercely defending our joy after so many years of imposed restriction. The final tracks turn the tide, transforming our pursuit of freedom into an exhilarating hunt, where those who once stifled our spirit are drawn into our eternal dance of liberation, freeing them from all worldly constraints."

Chaya continues: "This album starts as a deeply personal story of the physical and emotional pain that my sister went through when she first became ill. I was about twelve at that time. It was during the pandemic so it was a time of worry and isolation for me also but as Nyrobi slowly became more able to communicate, we spent every minute that she was awake together. I would sit in her room and contribute to her creations whilst she wrote song after song after song. From my more introverted perspective, the calmer songs reflect my nature, so 'Straight To Heart', 'Come On Outside' and 'Run Rabbit'. However,  I’ll ride-or-die for my big sis, so when it’s time to be defiant or to be rebellious, or when it’s time to scream, I’m right there too. This is what the album is about for me - our bond, that also respects who we are as individuals."

Anyone who has loved rock music over the last decade or so will be familiar with David Jakes and Jack Wrench. Jakes was the broodingly intense singer with Lonely The Brave; a complex character blessed with a once-in-a-generation voice. And Wrench was the explosive drummer with Arcane Roots, a man equally at home with math-rock complexity and sheer rock power. These two exceptional talents have been united in Interlaker, who might just be the sensational rock band you’ve been waiting for since they walked away from their former projects. 

Jakes and Wrench – who only knew each other vaguely from their previous bands – brokered their new partnership on Instagram; exchanging casual messages, discovering a mutual love of REM and Pearl Jam, before progressing to swapping demos and song ideas, eventually writing and recording their brilliant debut album entirely online. 

Jack Wrench commented: “We both approached recording the album with a zero-pressure attitude. We were both just up for writing music again.”

That method allowed Jakes, who holed up in his parents’ house over the summer to record his parts solo, to “put everything on the line” in his performances, recording as and when the mood struck, in his constant quest for vocal perfection.

Dave Jakes commented: “I tend to over-analyse everything, but it seemed to work out alright. I’m a bit fixated on my vocals.”

“Dave’s voice and songwriting craft will always retain an identity, so we can push the music in any direction,” continues Wrench. “The biggest kick I got out of the recording process was presenting Dave with a musical backdrop where I was like, ‘I have no idea where he will go with this’. I’ve never heard Dave singing that blend before.”

Jakes’ occasionally impenetrable, yet always expressive lyrics are also at their very best, covering what he describes as “everything in life: stuff about my daughter and family, drinking too much, mental health".

The sense of the unpredictable that courses through Interlaker’s album has also extended to an unlikely return to the live arena. The band – augmented by live members including Wrench’s brother – made a triumphant live debut at London’s Omeara last year, and have more shows scheduled throughout 2024, including a slot at 2000trees festival.

"Super excited for the world to hear ‘I Have Mixed Drinks About Feelings.’ It’s been a rough few years and it’s now time to cut loose and hopefully have some fun. A song about remembering that as bad as life may feel at any moment in time, we are not alone; there are plenty of people out there feeling that same pain.”

Drummer Ed Udhus adds: “After hearing this song you’ll be shaken, not stirred.”

zebrahead have been busy since the release of their last EP, II, playing shows across the globe, with studio sessions in between. The band will be rolling out an onslaught of new music well into 2024.

A new song will be released every five weeks, culminating in the release of the band's I EP later this year, the follow-up to the III & II EPs, which were released in 2021 and 2023.

Misery Loves Company has announced RØRY as co-headliner of the Bristol-based multi-venue festival, taking place on 28th September. Promoted by TEG Live Europe, RØRY joins co-headiners The Hunna for the event with diversity and inclusivity at its core.

Raising awareness around mental health issues is a major part of the ethos.  Misery Loves Company has once again partnered with Heads Above The Waves, a non-profit that raises awareness of depression and self-harm in young people.

The filming of the accompanying high-quality music video took place in Switzerland and the south of France. The main location is a historical replica of a famous three-mast sailing ship, from the fleet of Magellan's first circumnavigation of the world in the 16th century. UK alt-rock quartet The Fever Kings have released their self-titled debut EP, alongside a video for their new single 'Rise & Fall'.

The Fever Kings comment:

"This song relates to the journey many of us face in life. Where it's difficult knowing where to fit into a world that has been designed so against your nature. It resonates with the feeling of being trapped in a state which provides nothing but discomfort and pain. During these states of chaos, we all have a choice whether to remain in the same place, or to take a step into the unknown. Or to hold yourself back, or free your mind. People face many choices in life and it's a 50/50 which way you may go. We want people to feel that we understand them and want them to succeed, but it's also OK to have falls, as well as your 'rises'."

Hailing from the North East of England, alternative rock four-piece The Fever Kings were born out of the brutal COVID lockdowns, and the burning desire that Jack, Chris, Alex and Thomas felt to get back to music after long months of social hibernation. Since January 2022, the band have been writing music to serve the soul, carrying influences from Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World and Lifehouse through their tasteful sense of melody, and their incredibly dynamic energy.

Balancing soft rock with heavy melodies, The Fever Kings' sound leans towards nostalgic 00's rock. Since forming the four-piece have released three singles, one of which spent two weeks at No.1 in the Independent Music Charts in the Netherlands. 

Last year, The Fever Kings completed their first UK tour across three cities, concluding with a hometown headline show in Newcastle. The band have also performed at Heveningham Hall in Suffolk, supporting Mel C of the Spice Girls.
