Legendary musician Marko Hietala is back with a mesmerising new single, 'Frankenstein’s Wife,' a tragic love song that blends dark humour with haunting melodies. Released today, this rock hymn is a journey into the gothic world of a mad scientist's desperate attempt to reanimate the love of his life.

With its Tim Burton-like gothic qualities, 'Frankenstein’s Wife' is both eerie and enchanting. The song showcases Marko’s signature storytelling, combining a great guitar riff and haunting keyboards that build into a chorus you can’t help but sing along to.

Marko Hietala comments: "I like to write my romance mixed with insanity and splatter. What it tells about me is anyone’s guess, but it sure is a classic combo for legends. Hope you like the song too!"

Producer and guitarist Tuomas Wäinölä adds: "Production-wise 'Frank' includes some personal favourite moments catching the vibe of the great Alice Cooper albums Trash and Hey Stoopid. I love that theatrical arena rock sound with broad tempos, big guitar riffs and synths and some gang backing vocals."

The music video, premiering alongside the single, brings this darkly romantic tale to life in a visually stunning way, adding layers of depth to an already unforgettable song.

US heavyweights Bodysnatcher have unleashed their highly anticipated new EP, Vile Conduct, through MNRK Heavy. To celebrate the band have also released a captivating music video for their track, 'Say Goodbye'. 

Leading up to today, the quartet has shared 'Murder8' featuring the inimitable Jamey Jasta, 'Severed', 'Human Disdain', and most recently, 'Infested'. Altogether, the tracks have amassed a staggering 1.7 million streams on Spotify alone and 582k views and counting on YouTube .

Speaking about the EP, the band commented: "Vile Conduct to us is a culmination of all of the different struggles people in general can be subject to, or can inflict on others. Prog/alt-metal newcomers Grinn have released a video for their brand new single 'All For You', taken from their upcoming EP. The track features a collaboration with rising vocal trio Espera.

The band comment: 

"'All For You' was originally written from the perspective of a gaslighter/abuser. We tried to write something that suggests a power dynamic where an abuser is punishing their lover/victim. 

"The song’s conception began with a two second riff that Freddy showed me in a demo he made, this evolved into the intro riff you hear on the record now. The arrangement overall was originally from a skeleton that Freddy mocked up, then I ended up developing and expanding upon it over many months until finally settling on the form you hear now - I think the chorus was re-written about four times! Our work process usually follows this method, we just throw around each other’s ideas until we’re mutually happy. 

"Keeping the lyrical content in mind, myself and videographer Jay Chow concocted a witch-hunt video. Initially we were going to burn the witches, but convincing the girls to set fire to themselves proved impossible. 

"Instead, mine and Freddy's characters are shown to capture Lynsey (Espera) as a witch in an attempt to exorcise/purify her. This doesn’t end well for us however. The video ended up putting an unforeseen twist on the lyric which was cool, a spontaneous girl-power moment was achieved! 

"Collaborating with Espera was something we had on the cards for a while. I’ve been good friends with Lynsey for years so it was only a case of them squeezing Grinn around their busy touring schedule with Sleep Token. Fun fact: Espera were actually fans of one of my old bands and came to my gigs before I even met them, such a small world…

"Espera’s backing vocals can be heard all over the upcoming EP, but it felt right to add them as a feature on 'All For You' as their vocal parts are particularly prominent on this track. We invited them over to my studio in November 2023 to record all of the backing vocals on all six EP tracks over two days."

Grinn's authentic take on the prog/alternative metal sound first reared its head in May 2024 with their debut single 'Easier To Hurt'. Now with three releases under their belt, including stomping second single 'Silence', Grinn are sure to turn heads with their third blazer of a tune, 'All For You'. 

Teaming up with metal's favourite new vocal trio Espera, Grinn have concocted an absolute banger filled with disgusting riffs, an anthemic chorus and a stunning vocal arrangement, all packaged together in a combo fit for moshpits and airwaves across the metal world. 

Now gearing up to their first London headline show at Camden Assembly, Grinn are primed to become one of the most exciting new metal bands in the UK.

Genre defying sisters ALT BLK ERA have unveiled a music video for 'Straight To Heart', the second single taken from their upcoming debut album Rave Immortal, set for release on 24th January via Earache Records.

Emotive melodies, drum n bass grooves and big guitars come together on 'Straight To The Heart', once again showcasing the duo's musical diversity and infectious songwriting. Lyrically, vocalist Nyrobi opens up about her struggles with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - a running theme throughout the album - and the painful impact the condition has had on her life.

Nyrobi comments on the video: "'The Straight To Heart' video was really difficult for me to film because it’s such a close reflection of the darkest moments that I’ve ever experienced. I still struggle to watch it back. I do hope the video gives a little insight into the world of chronic illness. I hope it helps to start conversations about hidden disabilities and I hope it helps sufferers to feel visible and represented."

On the song, she continues: "I became chronically ill during lockdown where I was in constant, excruciating pain throughout my body. Partly due to my illness and partly due to the high-strength pain medication I was prescribed, I existed in a fog of dream-like, whispery moments where I slept for 20 hour days.

"Over the months and years, in my moments of clarity I noticed that my friends had forgotten about me and as I slowly came out of the fog I was in, they made no effort to reconnect. I was left out in the cold, forgotten about, so I had to deal with both the physical and emotional pain. I was incredibly lonely, and my life was a shell of just existing.

"This all happened during my teen years, an important time in my life where I was finding out who I was. The lockdowns and then my illness robbed me of important 'normal' teen experiences.

"The song will connect with anyone who is struggling with, or who has ever felt loneliness, being abandoned or neglected."

On Rave Immortal, Nyrobi comments: "You might not notice on a first listen that this album is about my hidden disability that is a result of chronic illness that took hold during my teens and left me bed-ridden for years. I take the listener through the shadows and share the pain of abandonment I felt, and the solace that I found in my younger sister's unwavering support.

"This part of the album is so painful for me and at the same time it feels beautiful because it shows my sister by my side, every step of the way; through each emotion and every story. I wouldn’t have been brave enough to share this part of me without Chaya and the track 'Come On Outside' is a beautiful reflection of her.

"But we don’t stop there! The album then captures the defiant energy that grew within us, as I became more able. The songs show us crashing through the imposed barriers and boldly claiming spaces that we were once excluded from. As the songs transition into a dreamscape, they delve into the exploration of relationships; the clash of personalities when fitting into a new friendship group and the dangerous mind of an infatuated person who is scarred by illness and years of isolation.

The rebellion then builds as we begin to host wild celebrations, fiercely defending our joy after so many years of imposed restriction. The final tracks turn the tide, transforming our pursuit of freedom into an exhilarating hunt, where those who once stifled our spirit are drawn into our eternal dance of liberation, freeing them from all worldly constraints."

Chaya continues: "This album starts as a deeply personal story of the physical and emotional pain that my sister went through when she first became ill. I was about twelve at that time. It was during the pandemic so it was a time of worry and isolation for me also but as Nyrobi slowly became more able to communicate, we spent every minute that she was awake together. I would sit in her room and contribute to her creations whilst she wrote song after song after song. From my more introverted perspective, the calmer songs reflect my nature, so 'Straight To Heart', 'Come On Outside' and 'Run Rabbit'. However,  I’ll ride-or-die for my big sis, so when it’s time to be defiant or to be rebellious, or when it’s time to scream, I’m right there too. This is what the album is about for me - our bond, that also respects who we are as individuals."

The new album, Trollslayer, will be released on 4th October, which is also the start of the biggest tour in the band's history so far, when WIND ROSE will head out on the eagerly awaited Wolfsnächte 2024 arena tour throughout Europe with Powerwolf and HammerFall.

WIND ROSE's ultimate dwarven journey continues on Trollslayer.

Trollslayer follows the success of Warfront (2022), which debuted in the Top 10 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart. Arriving right before their biggest European tour ever alongside Powerwolf and Hammerfall, this album promises to be the perfect blend of signature party anthems alongside select deeper, more serious tracks. Exploding onto the scene with viral appearances on TikTok and amassing almost half a million followers on the platform, as well as almost a million monthly listeners, WIND ROSE have solidified their reputation as a powerhouse in the modern power metal scene.

Trollslayer starts-off with the epic instrumental 'Of Ice and Blood', setting the stage for the fiery energy to come. Next up is the electrifying 'Dance of the Axes', a potent mix of catchy refrains and guttural growls. It is directly followed by two party anthems, 'The Great Feast Underground' – which overtakes the listener with crazy dwarven drinking rhythms – as well as throwing the gauntlet with the anthem 'Rock and Stone', a party track inspired by space dwarf first-person shooter video game Deep Rock Galactic. The album continues with three deep and catchy anthems – the fast 'Home of the Twilight', the upbeat 'To Be a Dwarf', and the Warhammer-inspired title track 'Trollslayer'. The album concludes with the gripping 'No More Sorrow', showcasing WIND ROSE's ability to weave moments of emotional depth into their music. This track proves that even the mightiest dwarven warriors carry the weight of loss and hardship.

Trollslayer brings the listener into an unforgettable journey through the caves of metal, capturing the epic, medieval spirit of the dwarves.

Swiss/German modern metal frontrunners, Ad Infinitum, make a stand by releasing their next staggering offering and new single 'Surrender'. 'Surrender' beams with shimmering soundscapes, eruptive breakdowns and a celestial vocal attack by singer Melissa Bonny, ranging from stellar clear singing to harsh and aggressive growls.
